Reset your body, get rid of aching joints, build a robust foundation
Overview: The human body is a beautiful finely tuned machine that’s capable of incredible feats if placed under the right conditions. Like any finely tuned machine it’s important to build from the inside out. The Foundation Block does exactly that.
This block is the base of the pyramid, the foundations to the house, the chassis to a supercar, the battleship holding a gigantic cannon. As the saying goes…”you wouldn’t fire a cannon from a canoe”, neither would you place a Ferrari engine inside a Vauxhall Corsa! The result to both scenarios would be poor and dangerous.
The Foundation should run wide and deep, it’s what we don’t see that allows us to develop performance without the risk of injury.
Who would benefit from this block: The Foundation Block is for anyone and everyone who’s looking to improve the way they perform, feel or look. In particular if you’re coming back from a period of inactivity, injury, or feel your body is imbalanced or aching. Although this is called ‘The Foundation Block’ it’s revisited often, occasionally upto 3 times per year.
This block has a large emphasis on exercise form & technique, postural correction, general joint mobility & stability and movement patterning. Strength, muscle size and endurance are not the sole aim, though they will improve.
Following this block you will have dozens of well performed moves such as squats, lunges, presses, pulls, bracing etc performed with crisp technique and integrity. Building strength, power, mass, endurance (or whatever performance trait you choose) becomes easy when the foundation has been set.
Skill Level: Depending on your current training experience and skill level (which will be determined during preliminary assessments) you will be placed in either beginner, intermediate or advanced skill level.
Block Duration: 12 Weeks
Session Location: Gym Based, however most sessions can be completed at home with minimal equipment.
Weekly Session Number: 3 session per week (with the option of additional sessions upon request)
